The Junior NAD Flash Memo is a monthly update on Jr. NAD chapter activities including community service projects, fundraisers, social events, and advocacy activities. Jr. NAD members and their chapter advisers organize and host events and fundraisers, connect local concerns with national issues, and coordinate important projects related to ADA accessibility, leadership development, and social media.

2011 Jr. NAD Conference Update:
Conference pre-registration forms will be sent out this month (March). Be on the lookout!

• Western Pennsylvania School for the Deaf Jr. NAD discussed plans to host Staff Appreciation week in May.
• Phoenix Day School for the Deaf Jr. NAD has been selling discount cards for Papa John’s, Subway, Panda Express, Baja Fresh, and Quinzo’s.
• Minnesota State Academy for the Deaf (MSAD) hosted a successful fellowship dance that included D/HH students from other schools on February 17th. The MSAD Jr. NAD chapter hopes to make it an annual event.
• Wisconsin School for the Deaf Jr. NAD selected two co-chairs to organize two fundraisers at Madison Deaf Club and Culver’s Restaurant.
• Pennsylvania School for the Deaf (PSD) Jr. NAD officers watched some of Gerald Burstein’s Parliamentary Procedure DVD. Also, PSD Jr. NAD members have been selling Arizona Iced Tea drinks and deli bagels every Tuesday to raise funds for 2011 Jr. NAD Conference.
• Metro Deaf School Jr. NAD members volunteered at the showing of a film documentary about deaf breast cancer survivors.
