The WFD book is a comprehensive overview of the first 50 years of the WFD. From its inception during a chance meeting of friends from Italy, Austria and Yugoslavia in 1949, through its 50th Anniversary in 2001, this book covers it all. The book features highlights of WFD Congresses, board meetings, biographies of award winners, histories of WFD Ordinary members (national deaf associations) show our world views through the issues of the day. A world map is included along with international stamps recognizing the deaf and disabled communities.
The book is published by the National Association of the Deaf (USA). The NAD would like to thank everyone who made this book possible - the WFD, Ordinary Members, Gallaudet University, Gerald “Bummy” Burstein, Laurent Clerc Cultural Fund (LCCF), and countless volunteers.
Be sure to stop by the NAD booth during the conference to buy your book and have it personally autographed!
