NAD Applauds I. King Jordan’s Leadership, Provides Perspective On New President



The Board of Directors of the National Association of the Deaf (NAD) sent an open letter to the Gallaudet University Board of Trustees applauding President I. King Jordan for his exemplary service as President while outlining organizational expectations for the next President.
 
“Dr. I. King Jordan, through his leadership, has established the benchmark for the next president of Gallaudet University,” stated Nancy J. Bloch, NAD Chief Executive Officer and Ex Officio Board Member, “We look forward to working in partnership with the Gallaudet Board to encourage qualified candidates to apply for what remains a historically significant position of leadership for the nation and the world.”

In the open letter, the NAD Board stated that Dr. Jordan's leadership has had a lasting impact, resulting in unprecedented opportunities for deaf and hard of hearing individuals across the country, and even worldwide. The Board went on to say that “the next President of Gallaudet needs to be ready to take on the challenges inherent to this vitally significant role.”
