Please Take the NAD-RID Survey on Interpreter Specialization

As part of the National Interpreter Certification (NIC) credential enhancement process, the NAD and RID need your help in identifying the areas that should have interpreter specialization. The outcome of this survey will enhance interpreting services by ensuring consumers are matched with interpreters who possess the skills and knowledge needed for particular, specialized settings and assignments.

Please take the NAD-RID survey on interpreter specialization at: https://lucas141.qualtrics.com/SE/?SID=SV_a2SW8c0WQxHSzis

Specialized certification is currently provided for legal interpreting (SC:L).  However, There are no other specializations yet for other crucial areas such as medical, mental health, IT, and other areas). Your input is critical in ensuring that the deaf and hard of hearing community has input in both identifying the need for as well as the development of specialized certifications.

The survey will take 15 minutes to complete. The deadline is Wednesday, November 30, 2011 (old deadline: Tuesday, November 1, 2011), please do not delay.

Thank you for your investment in our community. Forward this email to your friends, colleagues and anyone you know who uses interpreting services.

Sincerely yours,
