The NAD held its recent Board meeting in Phoenix, AZ from January 21-23, 2010. During the Board meeting weekend we asked our supporters to share their thoughts on the NAD and the role it has in advocating for your rights in the United States of America. Enjoy this video put together by volunteers like you!
Larry Devenny:
My name is Larry Devenny from AZAD. I really enjoyed going to the NAD Board meeting to observe and meet people. It was awesome seeing people come from many states come together in one place to discuss their experiences and to ask questions. I really enjoyed that.
Astrid Goodstein:
NAD is a part of my life. The quality of life really depends on what NAD does. When NAD moves forward, my life moves up.
Tom Buell:
NAD does many things that are not seen by the public. Today, I could see that.
Michael Berger:
The reason I became involved with the NAD Board is because NAD is the key to our future.
Manny Johnson:
We preserve, protect, and promote our civil, human, and linguistic rights of Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals in the United States of America. Make sure you always remember that!
Frank Amann:
I have a great life in America, thanks to NAD! If it wasn’t for NAD, I would be suffering as a second-class Deaf citizen. You know, the biggest role of NAD is to re-educate the public repeatedly.
Harvey Goodstein:
Access for all!
Paul Amann:
I enjoyed this. With my involvement, I could see what’s happening behind the doors. This made me feel more motivated to get involved, interact, and see what I can do.
Brandon Grigsby:
This is the first time I participated. It was an experience meeting others. I feel connected with them. So, I enjoyed this a lot.
Kevin DaSilva:
Back in high school, I was a member of Junior NAD. After that, there was nothing for me until finally NAD hosted this event here. I came, and it was amazing. I feel there’s a great need for the young generation to become involved with NAD again. So now, this is a great time! I look forward to future opportunities.
Mark Apodaca:
As long as Deaf people in America exist, we will still have NAD there for them.
Bonele Amann:
I enjoyed being with NAD members. They’re fun!
Bobbie Beth Scoggins:
NAD rocks!
Sean Gerlis:
I hope you’ve enjoyed our tweets from our board meeting. I look forward to seeing you join us for the next one.
