We have our spectacular Opening Ceremonies at a baseball field, a jam-packed week of workshops, events and exhibits and a barbecue as the closing banquet... Lots of indoor activities, then outdoor fun under the hot Louisville sun! What should you pack for your trip to Louisville?
Here’s a few tips on what to wear to events during the conference week [3]. Let’s get all our ducks in a row!
First, the weather. During the month of July in Louisville, the average high [4] is 89 degrees, with a low of 70 degrees during the evenings. July is also the average hottest month in Louisville! Looks like it’ll be a great week. This gives you an idea of what to bring - loose, cool clothing is a great idea.
Now, the attire. Kicking off with the Opening Ceremonies [5] on July 3 from 3:30 to 10 p.m. at the Louisville Slugger field, wear casual attire you are comfortable in, so you can greet old and new friends [6] -- and cheer for the Louisville Bats on their home field!
The Steamboat Cruise [7] to benefit KAD on July 4 from 7:30 to 11 p.m. includes performances, fireworks, desserts, and a cash bar, and an amazing sunset, so be sure to dress up for the evening in the spirit of the Fourth of July, if you’ve already bought your tickets for the Steamboat Cruise!
For the workshops [8], exhibit hall, and plenary sessions, the attire is business casual. The same goes for the College Bowl [9] finals on July 5 from 8 to 10 p.m., and the Miss Deaf America Finals/Live Auction [10] on July 6 from 7 to 10 p.m.
All day on July 7 is the DeaFestival [11], and then we wrap up the conference with a fun barbecue. This will be a casual gathering to benefit NAD from 5 to 7 p.m. Dress casually so you can enjoy the last evening in Louisville, and make a few more memories before we all go home!
It’s getting more and more exciting each day. We can’t wait to see you in Louisville!
