Muhammad Ali Center Admission Included with Registration!

The National Association of the Deaf (NAD) is delighted to announce that admission to the Muhammad Ali Center on Thursday evening, July 5, from 5:30 – 7:00 pm, is included with registration for the 2012 NAD Conference! Registrants must wear their 51st Biennial NAD Conference badge to receive their complimentary admission to the Muhammad Ali Center.

The 51st Biennial NAD Conference, with the theme of “Nothing About Us, Without Us!” will be held at the Hyatt Regency Louisville and the Kentucky International Convention Center during July 3 – 7, 2012. Workshops, plenaries, exhibits, and traditional events such as the NAD College Bowl, Miss Deaf America Ambassador Competition. Come to the Opening Ceremonies at a baseball game, the 4th of July Kentucky Association of the Deaf steamboat benefit cruise and a NAD Benefit BBQ on the closing day of the Conference and the opening day of the DeaFestival Kentucky -- a feast for the eyes!

Muhammad Ali, the famed boxer who once said, 'I float like a butterfly and sting like a bee', brought unprecedented respect to his sport, while his work outside of the ring garnered much needed attention and support for his humanitarian causes. The Muhammad Ali Center is a cultural attraction and international education center that is inspired by the ideals of Muhammad Ali. The Muhammad Ali Center is 0.4 miles (8 minute walk) from the Kentucky International Convention Center. Head north on S 4th Street toward W Market Street, turn left onto W Main Street and turn right onto N 6th Street. The Muhammad Ali Center will be on the left.

The National Association of the Deaf (NAD) is the nation's premier civil rights organization of, by and for deaf and hard of hearing individuals in the United States of America. Established in 1880, the NAD was shaped by deaf leaders who believed in the right of the American deaf community to use sign language, to congregate on issues important to them, and to have its interests represented at the national level.
