WEBINAR: How to Host a Virtual Conference

This free webinar is for State Associations and Affiliates to participate to get tools and become better prepared for when it’s time to host their own virtual conference. There will be two parts to this training, it is preferred that you attend Part 1 to be able to attend Part 2. Since there are only 100 spots available, we encourage you to consider sending representatives who are directly involved in planning the virtual conference for your organization. Both webinars will be recorded and both video links will be shared with all State Associations and Affiliates.  

Training topics include (but not limited to): Zoom Meeting vs Webinar, Capacity Number, Captioning, Interpreting, Other types of Accommodations Sharing Screen, Virtual Background, Livestream, Polls (Voting), Breakouts, Confirmations, limit to specific group to view, Financial Aspect, Co-Host, Raise Hand, Private Channels, Workshops vs Business Meeting, and Roles.

Note: this will not be streamed to Facebook, you will need to register for the webinar to receive the zoom link.

  • DATES: Wednesday, March 10 & Monday, March 15, 2021 at 7-9p ET
  • Webinar will be done in American Sign Language (ASL), English Voice will be provided

TRAINERS

Angela is smiling.Angela coordinates and executes the Biennial NAD Conferences and the NAD Leadership Training Conferences since 2011. Angela is a business owner specializing in conference logistics. In addition to working with the NAD, she also coordinates conferences for other organizations. She has a BS in Business Administration and a certificate in Virtual Meeting Management. In October 2020, Angela was involved with the NAD’s first ever Virtual Council of Representatives, where the NAD had to host over 200 delegates on a Zoom Meeting platform. She currently resides in Sioux Falls, South Dakota with her three busy KODAs, husband, the sweetest deaf dog and a surly cat. She spends her free time hanging out with her family, cooking, gardening, outdoor activities, functional training, reading, and traveling whenever she can!
Sara is smiling. Sara has been part of the NAD team since 2019 as the Content Coordinator. She manages all social media content you see! In the light of the pandemic, she has hosted multiple webinars for the NAD team and took part in planning for the Virtual Council of Representatives. Sara resides in the Pacific Northwest with her PNW-bred husband, so anytime it’s sunny and nice out, you can catch her outside in her backyard reading a book with her cats or exploring different areas of the PNW with her husband.
Lizzie is smiling, wearing the NAD blue polo.Lizzie has worked at the NAD since 2013. She works closely with Angela for all conference related events including the NAD Biennial Conference and NAD Leadership Training Conference (NLTC). Since March 2020, Lizzie has been involved with hosting many webinars for the NAD. In October 2020, Lizzie was involved with the NAD’s first ever Virtual Council of Representatives, where the NAD had to host over 200 delegates on a Zoom Meeting platform. She appreciates opportunities to improve accessible videos online and loves talking about captioning. On a personal note, Lizzie was born and raised in California before moving out east in 1999 and now lives in Austin, Texas.

NAD webinars may be free (with a charge only for CEUs) or might have a cost for registration. Any payments made towards registering for a webinar and/or the CEUs are non-refundable except for a medical emergency or a death in the family (written documentation is required).
