Bobbie Beth: Hello! In my last video, I discussed my work within NAD Headquarters (specifically operations). I’ve been working on restructuring things, connecting people and responsibilities, and improving organizational efficiency. With that in mind, I have some amazing news to share with you today.
I would love to introduce the person who will become NAD’s new Chief Operating Officer – Mr. Kelby Brick, Esq. Kelby is not a stranger to NAD, he used to work here, and had a variety of positions within the organization. He’s been very active in state associations, and has also been very active in the community at large, in addition to his previous work at NAD.
So, I want to extend a warm “Welcome Back to the NAD family” to Kelby!
Kelby: Thank you so much, Dr. Scoggins. I am truly delighted and honored that you’ve asked me to join you here at NAD. The NAD has always been near and dear to my heart.
Since my work here at NAD, I have had a variety of different positions in various places. I’ve held senior executive positions in private, government, and non-profit organizations. I’ve managed organizations with budgets exceeding $100 million. I’ve managed organizations with over 1500 staff reporting to me.
I’ve always looked up to the organization of NAD. The work that NAD does impacts our lives every day. When Dr. Scoggins asked me to become involved again, my answer was a resounding, “Yes!” We are here at NAD to preserve, protect, and promote the civil, human, and linguistic rights of deaf and hard of hearing people. We will focus on improving employment opportunities, educational opportunities, and language access.
This all forms a construct I like to call the “Deaf Ecosystem”.
I am very excited to work with you, Dr. Scoggins.
Bobbie Beth: I am, as well!
Kelby: I look forward to supporting NAD’s next efforts, to support and serve the community.
Bobbie Beth: I want to include the community in our “high five” for Kelby and NAD!
Kelby: I’m really excited about this.
