The National Association of the Deaf (NAD) and Nebraska Association of the Deaf (NeAD) are excited to host the 26th Biennial Jr. NAD National Conference in Ashland, Nebraska!  It will be held at the Carol Joy Holling Camp from Tuesday, November 7th to Sunday, November 12th, 2017.

This special conference will provide delegates, observers and advisors many opportunities to hone their leadership skills, to network with others from all over the United States, and bring back tips, tools and ideas to their home chapters in order to continue the ideals of Jr NAD: Citizenship, Scholarship and Advocacy.  The participants will have a great opportunity to meet with many Deaf leaders who are excellent role models for the Deaf Youth.

The Jr. NAD offers deaf and hard of hearing students in 7th through 12th grade opportunities to develop leadership skills, learn and demonstrate citizenship, and meet and interact with students from other schools and states. Jr. NAD chapters focus on advocacy, attitude, awareness, commitment, cooperation, friendship, information exchange, involvement and leadership skills. Chapters have meetings and participate in many activities such as community events and fundraisers. Skills and values obtained by chapter members during these meetings and events will help them to become future leaders and advocates in the deaf and hard of hearing community.

The pre-registration non-refundable fee is $50 and the deadline is Friday, June 30, 2017. The conference registration fee is $300 per person.

The online registration forms and final payment are due on Friday, September 29, 2017.

For confirmed participants, additional required forms are due on Friday, October 27, 2017.
