On December 14, 2018, we will have a meeting with the FCC. The meeting’s about scripted captioning technology used by live news stations on TV. It’s called Electronic Newsroom Technique which uses teleprompter scripts. Only the stations in the top 25 TV markets are required to provide live captioning. All other TV markets can use scripted captioning. For our meeting with the FCC, we want to show examples of live news broadcasts, including weather and sports, from TV using scripted captioning. You live in an area where this captioning method is allowed, we ask if you can record a brief sample (no longer than 30 seconds) of your local news broadcast and upload it to YouTube and share with us. Please fill out the form below by November 30.
