The U.S.A. National Association of the Deaf (NAD) is proud to nominate Dr. Joseph J. Murray as President of the World Federation of the Deaf (WFD). The WFD is a non-governmental organization (NGO) supporting and fighting for the rights of deaf people around the world. As the only international deaf organization, WFD has many national deaf associations supporting their work, one of which is the NAD.

Over the past 16 years, the NAD has supported Dr. Joseph Murray as a WFD Board member and his earlier involvement in the World Federation of the Deaf Youth Section (WFDYS). Murray has travelled to over 60 countries and has interacted with Deaf communities on every continent.

“Joe’s experience and his vision for the WFD makes the NAD proud to nominate him for President. Joe will work to strengthen the WFD and ensure Deaf people continue to fight for full human rights,” said NAD President Bobbie Beth Scoggins.
