How will I join virtually?
We will be hosting the conference sessions on a Zoom Meetings Platform. It will be easier for you to have a Zoom account and have Zoom downloaded to your computer.
What devices are best for accessing workshops?
We strongly encourage you to use a Windows or Mac operating system on a laptop or desktop. We do not suggest using mobile devices like a tablet or phone since mobile devices have limited Zoom features. You may not be able to join a breakout room or submit a poll if the workshop uses such features. Also, we recommend that you enable ‘Hide Non-Video Participants’ in your Zoom video settings. We have tips!
What are the minimum requirements to connect to Zoom?
Zoom has an excellent support page on their website, along with a list of minimum requirements to join Zoom meetings.
I don’t know much about using Zoom! Will you offer training?
We will provide training sessions for those who want to become familiar before NLTC. An email will be sent out for sign ups.
Do you offer accommodations?
We value access and strive to make our meetings accessible and welcoming to all participants. The NAD is committed to access and all of the presenters have been provided with guidance on making their presentations accessible. We also provide accommodations to meet individual needs during the webinars. If you have a question about the accommodations you requested on your registration, please email [email protected]. All sessions will be in American Sign Language (ASL).
ASL to voice and captioning will be provided for all NLTC sessions.
We will reach out to you if you requested specific accommodations and make sure you are all set for NLTC.
Can I share my registration with someone else?
Each person should use their own registration. An email address can only be used by one person to access the sessions.
I cannot connect to a session, can someone help me?
Please consider the following:
- Are you clicking on the correct link in your email?
- Is your Zoom software updated?
- Is your area experiencing bad weather?
- Is your internet connection weak?
- Are you using the correct device to connect?
There are many external factors that may be affecting your connection. You can email [email protected] if you’re experiencing tech issues.
Will I be able to earn CEUs?
We are not offering CEUs for this conference. However, if you’d like an attendance certificate, you can email [email protected] and request one. You can also add this in your registration, note: this service has a $10 processing fee.
If you are seeking RID CEUs, you may seek Participant Initiated Non-RID Activities (PINRA) with an RID Approved Sponsor before NLTC. To provide the necessary documents for your PINRA process, you’ll need an attendance certificate which has a $10 processing fee.
